A different style of Rioja, refined and elegant, with aromas of violets, cherries, raspberries, and a subtle spicy note. Palacios Remondo is one of the superstars of the Spanish wine world and produces superb wines in Bierzo, Priorat, and Rioja.

The grapes for La Montesa come from the vineyard of the same name, located in the foothills of Mount Yerga with an easterly/southeast exposure. They benefit from the coolness of their altitude of 550 meters. The wine is a blend of 95% Garnacha, supplemented with local grape varieties also grown in the vineyard (including Bobal).

All the grapes are harvested at the same time. First, the grapes are thoroughly selected, then destemmed and crushed before being transferred to the fermentation tank. Alcoholic fermentation occurs spontaneously in stainless steel tanks.

The skins remain in contact with the juice for about 35 days to extract color, flavor, and tannins. The wine is then pressed and aged for 12 months in oak barrels and then 12 months in bottle before release. The wine is fined but not filtered.

The result is a refined, floral Rioja. Burgundy lovers will certainly appreciate this as well. Color: Ruby red.
